Green Screen Custom Trellis Family

Custom trellis basics

1. Load family into project
2. Family will load into Specialty Equipment Category
4. This family is a face based element, allowing you to place on a face or work plane
5. Once placed you can move element horizontally to a precise location if required
6. This panel has a precut corner allowing a custom shape to be generated
	a. To adjust horizontally drag internal arrows in plan view
	b. To adjust vertically drag internal arrows in elevation view
7. Adjusting Panel Height and Width
	a. Select Panel
	b. Open type properties dialogue
	c. Adjust panel height and width as desired
	d. Trellis panel is constrained to a 4' x 14' max dimension
8. To rotate panel
	a. Select panel in a perpendicular view to desired rotation
	b. Select rotate command
	c. Check disjoin (disjoins element from work plan)
	d. Rotate to desired angle
9. Creating custom shapes
	a. select panel
	b. Select edit family on toolbar
	c. Choose 'yes' to open family for editing
	d. This family was set up for easy customization in family editor
		*Create voids or extrusions (apply provided trellis material)
	e. When finish choose load into project

Using render materials for trellis panel and vines

1. Un-zip material file into C:\Program Files\Revit Architecture 2009\Data\Rendering\assetlibrary_base.fbm\Materials\Hardwood\Presets
	*material images are pre-mapped to this location
3. Load Family into Revit
4. Open Materials
5. Select Rendering
6. Select a Green Screen Trellis material or plant material
	- The jpg image under Image File should have a swatch in it.
If you see a swatch than process was successful.
If you do not see a swatch, follow the steps below
	a. Click browse button next to Image file location space
	b. Locate desired image file on you hard drive
	c. Select file and click open

Using Trim profiles with Trellis panels

1. Load profile into project
2. In Revit 2009 under modeling tab choose create
   In Revit 2010 choose model in place under Component
3. Choose Special Equipment category
4. Name family
5. Draw a Reference plane on back side of the trellis panel in plan view
6. Lock reference plane to trellis
7. Open instance properties for reference plane and name reference plane, Select ok
8. Change to appropriate elevation view
9. Choose Solid - Sweep from the modeling tool bar
10. Select sketch path from the tool bar
11. Choose reference plan created in steps 5-7, select ok
12. Sketch path for trim to follow, lock to trellis panel if desired
13. Finish path
14. Select profile from that was loaded into project at step 1
15. Change to perpendicular view of profile (if sketched in North/South elevation, change to East/West elevation)
16. You can now modify the X-axis, Y-axis, and angle of trim to fit the trellis panel if needed
17. Select sweep properties; select a Green Screen color from the material list to render correctly
18. Select ok to exit sweep properties
19. Select finish sweep
20. Select finish model to return to the project
